The management of electricity requires the use of measurement and protection devices able to keep the flows and the main parameters under control.
Having microcontrollers with high performance, low power consumption and high precision in the conversion of quantities, from analog to digital, allows to obtain command and control systems that can not be built up to the past decade.
It is not for this reason that the traditional analogue systems used since the 1950s must be considered obsolete: in particular, when high immunity to electromagnetic disturbances and very high values of MTBF (mean time between failures) are required, the use of operational amplifiers it is still unreplaceable.
